Happy Sunday. Welcome to the curatorial issue of PATH NINE where I share recommendations, links, and ideas that will help you on your path to think, work, and live better.
We’re just wrapping up a brief trip to Seattle, where we’ve been house/pet-sitting for the past week. Even if we only had time to see a few friends—and only for a brief moment—it was a nice reminder of the value of changing your environment and switching things up.
In the spirit of switching things up, I’m testing a new format for the Sunday Selects. It’s more direct and to the point, so hopefully you like it.

Here are five things that I thought were worth sharing this week:
The new HOLIDAY HOME aesthetic is "OFFICE LOBBY." This one struck a chord with me. I hadn't realized that I’ve subconsciously embodied this concept and aesthetic within the new home I'm (still, yes STILL) building. It made me think: what happens when our spaces — work, home, holiday — merge into our primary living space? Where do we go, to do the things we do that aren’t meant for “home?”
Ideas I'm thinking about: Building a creative practice by John Warner. A love letter to creative work, and a hate letter (that's a thing, right?) to anyone who thinks creative work is wasteful or without merit (aka idiots). The article has me contemplating and re-evaluating an idea I explored in 2020 about the pros and cons of automating creativity and creative work.
Books I'm reading: In addition to my summer reading list, I've started reading Profit First by Mike Michalowicz. It's a short read that was recommended to me (and others) by Andrew Wilkinson.
What I'm watching: Break Point. Not to be confused with Point Break — although I'd pay to watch Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves play a tennis match — it’s an inside look into the intense pressure of professional tennis mixed with a bit of drama and reality.
What I'm listening to: the debut album from LA-based Militarie Gun is grungy guitar licks, interstellar interludes, and raspy vocals that remind me of some of my favorite albums from the 90s.
